Whittney Wood for State Representative

My experience spans from manufacturing, the service industry, and corporate roles. In every workplace, I embraced leadership roles, not to chase a title, but because someone needed to speak up. When coworkers were treated unfairly, denied wages, or faced harassment, I stood up willingly.

"My background isn't political — it's practical."

The government should mirror the people. Politicians are disconnected from real life. Decisions are made far away from the people who will live with the consequences. These are my people, the hardworking Ohioans. That's why I'm running to make Ohio a place we are proud to call home. We are humans, and we deserve better!

One of Us. Fighting for All of Us.

I have paid only one bill at a time, praying I had the money for the next one before a shut-off notice came. I have skipped meals to ensure my little one had enough to eat when we didn't have much, or only eat the foods she didn't like, so she would still have the things she would eat. I have count change to put gas in my car. I have gone without so I could get my little's prescription of antibiotics from the pharmacy because the insurance I pay out the ass for won't cover it. I used to question myself on why I just can't win. How am I struggling so hard? Shouldn't I be able to handle the adulting thing by 35?! Surely I am the one doing something wrong here... but then I realized it's not just me. I am not the only one scraping by tooth and nail, trying to make ends meet. It's all of us.

I refuse to be ashamed of the failings of our government to make rich men feel better about themselves. I refuse to blame my neighbor with an accent for the giant company laying off workers so they can push more work on others for the same pay. I refuse to accept that this is just the hand we've been dealt and learn to live with it. This isn't living. Hell, it's barely surviving at this point, and they still want us to be grateful... I'll be grateful when these lobbyist puppets are out of our seats of power. I'll be grateful when those same lobbyists can no longer reach their slimy fingers into elections and government affairs. I'll be grateful when real people win elections against the rich, lazy incumbents and lobbyist loyalists that don't even give a first thought to the people they are supposed to be representing. I'll be grateful when WE take back our government and make it work for the people. - Whittney

How Whittney Would Vote

🗳️

Ranked Choice Voting

Ranked choice voting gives voters more freedom to choose based on policy and character instead of just sticking to one side or the other down the entire ballot.

Data Center Energy Policy

I like using AI, but I do not feel that data centers should be permitted to use our electricity and dump waste into our waters. The reason these data centers use evaporation cooling systems is that it is the most basic, cheapest solution. Sourcing energy from another source would also cost these companies more, which they do not want.

We need restrictions on every aspect of the AI industry, but water and energy use are the most important. There is no reason why a liquid cooling system wouldn't work, or solar power electricity; they are just in too big a hurry to build this massive, unrestricted web. The industry is moving faster than the regulations.

🌿

Hemp / THC Regulations

The new THC regulations regarding edibles and drinks is just asinine. Nobody except the alcohol industry is asking for strict regulations. The alcohol industry's profits are not growing as they think they should, so they want to push THC products off the map so they can claim all of the client base. Isn't that kinda like a monopoly? They want no competition.

Ohio Education — HB 326

HB 326 has raised serious concerns among parents, educators, and child advocates across Ohio. I am committed to scrutinizing any legislation that impacts how our children are taught. Educational policy must prioritize student outcomes, support our teachers, and protect the right of families to stay informed and involved.

What We Stand For

01
🏫

Education

Fully fund our public schools, raise teacher pay to a competitive standard, and expand vocational training so every Ohio graduate has a clear path to a good-paying job — no college required.

02
💊

Healthcare

Ohio's latest budget allows the State to discontinue funding for Medicaid if the Federal government reduces funding for the program. This will cause a direct impact on the community that depends on it, and the healthcare industry here that provides it. Fairfield County needs increased programs to provide urgent care to individuals suffering from mental health crises and drug and alcohol dependency.

03
🏭

Jobs & Economy

Support workforce development programs for Ohio's high-demand fields, manufacturing, healthcare, and skilled trades. Push to raise wages to keep up with housing costs and ensure that full-time employed Ohioans can keep a roof over their head.

04
🔒

Public Safety

Support law enforcement with proper training and resources, invest in addiction treatment and mental health services, and pursue smart-on-crime policies that actually reduce recidivism.

05
🌾

Agriculture & Land

Defend Ohio's family farms from corporate consolidation, protect water quality in our rivers and lakes, and ensure rural communities receive their fair share of state infrastructure investment.

06
📋

Accountable Government

Reject PAC money and corporate influence. Push for transparent budgeting, strengthen ethics oversight in Columbus, and hold state agencies to the same standards we'd expect of any Ohio business.
